TMCNet: Tizor and Intellitactics Partner to Fight Data Theft

[June 05, 2008]

Tizor and Intellitactics Partner to Fight Data Theft

(Wireless News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
Tizor Systems, a provider of enterprise database monitoring and
protection solutions, and Intellitactics, a supplier of appliances and
software for enterprise security information and event management
(SIEM), have announced a technology alliance to deliver integrated
solutions that provide a comprehensive, enterprise-class approach to
data security.

Tizor said the partnership was formed to address the market need for
integrated enterprise-class solutions that can address major data
security challenges such as core-database breach detection, insider
threats, data outsourcing risk, and data compliance auditing and
reporting. The partnership includes solution integration as well as
joint selling, marketing, and customer service efforts.

Database monitoring and protection, sometimes referred to as database
activity monitoring (DAM), addresses insider misuse of enterprise data,
enforces separation of duties and catches data breaches at core
database servers. Security information and event management (SIEM)
provides for the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of data from
security devices, operating systems, and applications to support
real-time threat detection, incident investigation and management
activities, forensic and historical analysis of logs, and internal
audit and compliance reporting.

The partnership will enable enterprise customers to protect critical
data assets, control data risk, and meet a range of difficult to
address compliance requirements in an integrated way. The technology
integration between DAM and SIEM will provide automated security
incident analysis, correlation, viewing, reporting and response across
the enterprise -- making security management and response more
efficient and effective as well as saving valuable time for security

professionals. Enterprises will now have the ability to analyze a broad
range of security events while also viewing database activity on a
granular level.

"Both Tizor and Intellitactics are key elements in our data governance
strategy," said Dan Neal, IT security manager of WestJet, Canada's
leading low-fare airline. "The integration of these tools will provide
us with greater reporting flexibility and granularity while reducing
our administrative overhead."

"Customers are increasingly requesting that we provide database usage
data to SIMs," said Doug Mazlish, VP of business development at Tizor.
"The market need for database activity monitoring and SIM integration
was one of the main drivers for the partnership. We are excited to be
working with Intellitactics to provide our customers with a
comprehensive, integrated view into their data activity."
