i2Telecom (News - Alert) International has expanded its team with the addition of mobile industry veteran Tom Murphy who joins the company’s Advisory Board.
While the Georgia –based company has been pushing forward innovation with patented high-quality mobile applications products and services, it has at the same time been expanding its footprint. And with that growth comes the need to add more top quality industry insiders to advance the company’s goals, according to Paul Arena, chairman and chief executive officer of i2Telecom.
“His experience and enthusiasm should prove invaluable in our efforts to design basic and premium services that can attract and retain customers as we move forward with the creation of an entirely new category of cost-effective global telecommunications,” said Arena.

MyGlobalTalk is expected to make the digital-quality cellular VoIP application available to Blackberry and Windows mobile users.
At Sprint, Murphy was responsible for all consumer sales operations for the Sprint National Consumer Organization, including Sprint’s Sales Centers and all vendor operations for both Voice Services and Broadband products. “Tom has a wealth of knowledge regarding the psycho-graphics of consumers when it comes to mobile telecommunications marketing and service,” said Arena.
From December 2001 through January 2006, Murphy was the president and chief executive officer of DEM, LLC, a consulting and marketing organization that specialized in helping start-up and other companies define and implement business development plans, sales and marketing strategies, and efficient distribution models. “After 22 years in the wireless space, I am extremely impressed with the opportunity that i2Telecom’s MyGlobalTalk service represents for consumers and businesses that utilize long-distance communications in their daily activities,” said Murphy. “The Company’s ability to substantially reduce customers’ telecommunications costs, in a manner that is seamless to the user, opens the door to large market opportunities heretofore untapped by the competition. I look forward to working with i2Telecom in exploiting these opportunities in coming years.”
