AOL's Mobile Portal to Stream TMZ.com Breaking News


Entering into a partnership with TMZ.com, AOL (News - Alert) today announced that breaking news content is now available through its mobile portal.

 
Ccelebrity news, photos and gossips from the TMZ.com is now available the mobile portal, which already provides features such as access to mobile versions of AOL Mail and AOL Search, company officials say, as well as MapQuest and Moviefone and content such as shopping, music, news, and games.
 
The portal also provides intelligent device detection functionality for the users with which they can get the best experience for their individual mobile phone, company officials say. TMZ’s popular entertainment news now complements these exciting features, they say.
 
TMZ officials say theirs is already a well known name on mobile. It has set up a new ad-supported trend on that platform.
 
With nearly 11 million unique visitors each month, TMZ.com is known as the most-trafficked entertainment news site in the United States, company officials say. It’s one of the most cited entertainment news sources in the world and is consistently credited with breaking the biggest stories dominating the entertainment news landscape, according to the company. The site is already setting the national agenda for what is entertainment news and is being used by thousands of global newsgathering companies, company officials say.
 
“TMZ earned its place as the top entertainment channel online through its unique celebrity coverage, and we’re excited to make this great content available from the AOL mobile portal,” said Kevin Conroy, executive vice president of AOL. “TMZ adds another great dimension to our growing mobile experience. Whether consumers are trying to find a local restaurant while on the road, looking to play the latest mobile games, or in search of breaking news on their favorite celebrity, they can find it all on the AOL mobile portal.”
