Sprint Makes it Easier to Get AAA Roadside Assistance

Making it easier for AAA members to call for roadside assistance from their mobile phones,  Sprint (News - Alert) has launched an assistance program that provides the ability for users to get directly connected to a AAA roadside assistance operator by calling *AAA from their Sprint or Nextel wireless phone.

By dialing *AAA, all Sprint wireless mobile phones can make use of the service including those with traditional keypads as well as smartphones with QWERTY keypads.

While breaking down can be a frustrating experience while on the road, AAA is committed to making the resolution process as easy as possible for its 51 million members. The Sprint Nextel (News - Alert) wireless phones help users in times of distress as they can easily call for assistance using their phones and get roadside assistance anywhere across the U.S. and parts of Canada.

The relationship between AAA and Sprint dates back to 2007 when Sprint announced the availability of AAA Mobile on select GPS-enabled mobile phones.

With the help of this award-winning GPS application, both AAA members and non-members of the Sprint Wireless network can access AAA’s proprietary travel information found in AAA’s TourBook travel guides as well as receive audible turn-by-turn directions, find Show Your Card & Save merchants offering AAA member discounts and locate AAA Approved Auto Repair facilities.

When looking for assistance, AAA members can also have their GPS location transmitted to AAA roadside assistance.
