MyScreen Files Patents in India, Mobile Market Rises to 500M by 2010

MyScreen Mobile (News - Alert) has filed a patent application for its technology with the Patent Office in India through which the company is seeking to protect the Intellectual Property Rights of Myscreen.

The filing of patents in specific countries, such as India, is just the start to protect its technology globally. Myscreen's technology is patent pending in the USA, Canada and the world.

By applying specifically to the Intellectual Property office for India, it ensures a solid foundation to build a successful market.

"The mobile phone market in India is predicted to grow to 500 million subscribers by 2010," said Christian Meissner, executive vice president, Myscreen, in a statement. "One of our strategies is to target the rapidly growing BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) where we feel advertisers will now have a utility to reach these consumers with ease.”

MyScreen is an innovative marketing and advertising tool within the mobile communication industry, establishing both a permission and incentive-based marketing model that allows mobile subscribers to be compensated for allowing targeted advertisements to appear on their cell phone or mobile device in the form of images, SMS and video at the end of a call.

MyScreen is now strategically positioned to launch globally.

In May, MyScreen Mobile announced that it has advanced to a new stage of its BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) marketing initiative with the opening of offices in Mumbai to enhance its mobile operator and media relationships on the Indian subcontinent.

India, with a population of over one billion, is the fastest growing mobile market in the world. It has a current mobile subscriber rate of 23 percent, representing 270 million mobile subscribers.

“India is a huge opportunity for MyScreen,” said Chris Meissner, executive vice president.

“It is expected to become the world's largest mobile market, overtaking both China and the United States, with mobile connections expected to reach 600 million by 2011 – 45 percent increase in 2 years. With the opening of an office in Mumbai, we are positioning MyScreen to succeed in this huge potential market,'' Meissner added.

Also in May, MyScreen completed an agreement to provide its services to Brazilian subscribers through a partnership with Marcelo Ballona founder of Yahoo! (News - Alert)Brazil.
