N-able Says N-Central Is Interoperable with Intel Centrino 2

N-able Technologies today announced that its managed services software N-central is interoperable with Intel (News - Alert) Centrino 2, which is powered by the Intel vPro technology for desktops.

It was also announced that N-central would be more closely integrated with Intel vPro, according to the company. With this move, N-able and Intel say they have strengthened their technology partnership. The announcement also reflects the growing impact of managed services and mobility on the IT industry as a whole, according to the companies.

“Mobile computing is the future of IT, and Intel’s vPro technology embeds remote management at the core of the IT industry,” says Gavin Garbutt, president and chief executive officer of N-able Technologies. “When Intel vPro technology is combined with N-central, service providers gain the ability to remotely monitor and manage desktops and notebooks regardless of location, power state or how they are connected to the network. It’s this type of innovation and value proposition that MSPs and service providers will use to differentiate themselves and extend their services capabilities beyond the basics.”

Erik Reid, director of mobile platforms marketing at Intel, said, “Intel’s Centrino 2 with vPro technology is setting a new standard of excellence for mobile computing by offering service providers with the next level of mobile security and manageability. The interoperability and integration between N-central and Intel’s Centrino 2 with vPro technology brings forward significant advancements in remote monitoring and management, and collaboratively make it easier and more cost-effective for our customers to service end users remotely.”

The new version of N-central compatible with Intel Centrino 2 is slated to be launched early Q4 2008, according to the company.

N-able Technologies specializes in remote monitoring and management software and specialized business support services for managed service providers, company officials say. With its unique combination of technology, people and processes, N-able allows IT service providers to deliver lucrative managed services to small and medium-sized businesses. N-able has a strong presence in North America, the United Kingdom, Asia-Pacific and Australia, according to the company.
