Networks In Motion Recognized as an AlwaysOn Global 250 Winner

Networks In Motion (News - Alert) (NIM), a provider of wireless navigation solutions for Global Positioning System (GPS)-enabled mobile phones, today announced that it has been selected as one of the AlwaysOn Global 250 Winners.

The award committee included the AlwaysOn editorial team and a panel of experts from different fields, including online technology, media, entertainment, enterprise, and greentech sectors. The selection criteria included: innovation, market potential, commercialization, stakeholder value, and media buzz.

“The AO Global 250 winners have excelled in key strategic areas in the global technology markets,” said Tony Perkins, founder and CEO of AlwaysOn. “We congratulate them for their success in introducing new tools, services, and platforms that are driving the next phase of innovation and creating real value at an economically uncertain time.”

The award from AlwaysOn, an open media business community, will open new business opportunities for Networks In Motion in the global technology industries, hopes the company.

Networks In Motion provides wireless navigation, local search, and location-based services (LBS) in North America. With an aim to increase market share among 150 million GPS-enabled mobile phone users, Networks In Motion plans to implement mobile advertising into its LBS platform by reducing or eliminating monthly subscription charges.

“With a steadily increasing subscriber base, Networks In Motion is closing the gap on the navigation device ‘three-horse race’ between in-vehicle navigation, personal navigation devices and GPS-enabled mobile phones, moving rapidly to make the mobile phone consumers' format of choice for navigation,” stated the company.

“We are honored to be recognized by AlwaysOn as one of the most innovative private companies for the pioneering work we are doing in the LBS space," said Doug Antone, president and CEO of Networks In Motion, in a statement.

“This is an exciting time in the GPS market, where navigation applications are moving beyond getting from point A to point B (News - Alert) and now allow people to meet up with friends, find movie times, get detours around traffic and perform other functions that enhance their daily lifestyles,” added Antone.

The winners of the AlwaysOn Global 250 Top Private companies will be honored at the AlwaysOn & STVP Summit on July 22-24, 2008, at Stanford University. The two-and-a-half day executive summit highlights significant economic, political and commercial trends affecting the global technology industries. It also brings in the most innovative companies, renowned technologists, investors and journalists in different keynote presentations, panel discussions, and private company CEO showcases.

The “CEO Showcase” gives an opportunity to fifty top companies from AlwaysOn Global 250 to present their marketing strategies to a panel of industry experts at the event. Doug Antone will represent Networks In Motion.
