Schools Choose Clickatell SMS for Emergency Alerts and CommunicationsGlobal mobile messaging company, Clickatell (News - Alert), revealed that its Short Message Service (SMS) gateway is becoming a great success in universities and public schools as this has become the primary communications channel for them to enhance professor-to-student, teacher-to-parent and educational institution-to-community contact worldwide.
Clickatell offers a solution to reach any mobile phone in the world through a simple online SMS gateway platform.
Established in 2000, Clickatell is a communication provider specializing in bulk messaging services and SMS gateway connectivity. In 2006 the company collaborated with MultiMode to expand its messaging services across multiple devices including mobile phones, landline phones, fax machines, pagers and PCs.
With Clickatell SMS, parents of school and college students now have a convenient and effective way to communicate with school and on campus promptly and responsibly in cases of campus emergencies.
As per one of the reports submitted by BBC on a study from Next Generation Learning Campaign, “Parents Want Texts from Schools,” several parents today are looking forward to having the school reports on their children's performance texted or e-mailed. With more and more cell phone customers relying on text messaging, the idea is getting stronger and more feasible.
Clickatell's SMS gateway allows any application, Web site or system to send mobile messages globally using a variety of connection options. Clickatell is working with several education institutions and service providers to deploy cost-effective and time-saving text messaging solutions.
“Educators are smart to take advantage of text messaging to make sure they can communicate real time information in a time of need, or keep in touch with parents daily so grades don’t slip,” said Pieter de Villiers, chief executive officer at Clickatell.
Clickatell recently deployed their solution for principal teachers in Ireland (IPPN) to communicate quickly and easily with parents, staff and community services.
"Principals have struggled with the safest, easiest and most reliable way to keep families in the information loop. Now Clickatell has the solution," commented Larry Fleming, president of IPPN.
