Zain, a mobile service provider in Kuwait, reportedly has launched a nationwide Voice SMS service on Kirusa platforms.

Kirusa (News - Alert) is a vendor of Voice SMS and a developer of mobile value added services.

The launch enables all prepaid and postpaid subscribers of Zain Kuwait to send Voice SMS to mobile customers in Kuwait and to more than a billion people worldwide. Zain has incorporated Kirusa Voice SMS Solution integrated with the HP Opencall Media Platform into its network.

Khaled Al-Hajeri CEO of Zain Kuwait, said that their company sees a huge opportunity for Voice SMS in Kuwait and is happy to offer their customers the flexibility of reaching out to their friends and families living in other countries.

“Kirusa’s leading Voice SMS offering has huge proven potential, and serves as the platform for many other value added services, including International Voice SMS and broadcast of voice messages,” he added.

According to Dr. Inderpal Singh Mumick (News - Alert), CEO and founder of Kirusa, their Voice SMS solution gives Zain customers more freedom to communicate and provides an emotional touch to their messages within Kuwait and to mobile users worldwide.

Dr. Mumick also expressed their company’s excitement to be a part of the Zain Kuwait's Voice SMS launch and added that their company is sure Zain subscribers will appreciate the flexibility that the service offers.

Zain informs that it is very easy to send messages internationally. Their subscribers first have to dial * 88 followed by 00, country code and the international number; record a voice message and disconnect.

This month, Kirusa also announced a partnership with Dialogic, a global provider of world-class products and technologies for media and signal processing. Under the agreement, Kirusa incorporated the Dialogic Vision VX VoiceXML (News - Alert) Server within Kirusa’s Voice SMS solution and other value added services, being deployed by mobile carriers across the globe.
